A Small Announcement

It's been a little while since the last update, which normally means doom and gloom, but not this time! I've been hard at work on this game and have finally hit the point where I am feeling truly confident in it. It's still very early, but I have a core gameplay loop which is feeling really promising. Promising enough that I want to fully commit to it, which is why I am making this baby of an announcement that whatever this project becomes will be my next commercial game.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, it's the game that I started posting about here: https://benal.itch.io/blog/devlog/491176/how-its-going

This is kind of a silly thing to announce because I don't have any money behind this. It's literally just Me and My Game. The reason why I'm "announcing" this at all is because I've been writing these itch devlogs on and off for several years now and so many prototypes that I wrote about just didn't make it this far. I'm sure many of you who've been reading since I started doing this assumed this card game thing's days were numbered! Me making this post is a way to say: this time is different.

To put this all in perspective, I first created the gamemaker project for this game almost exactly a year ago, and I've logged 338 hours in it since then (gamemaker tracks this per project). I'm sure some of that is from idling, but probably not as much as you'd expect. That's also not even to mention the amount of hours logged for the previous Roblox version of the game, or all the time I've spent tinkering away in spreadsheets or google docs. When I say I'm serious about this thing: This is the level of serious I'm talking about!

Again, it's still very early. There's a lot of unknowns still such as: Who is going to make art/sound? Where is money going to come from? How big is it going to be? These are questions that I will be trying to answer in the coming weeks/months. I appreciate all of you that have been following along! I will hopefully have more tangible news soon, but it might take some time.
