2022 Update


It's been almost a year since my last post. Oops.

Inspiration has been hard for me to come by recently. Part of it is my personal standards for myself are much too high. Another part is just that I don't spend as much time thinking about game design as I used to. This isn't really a bad thing, I probably spent too much of the 2010's making games, playing games, and thinking about [making] games. My output is much smaller now, but that's a small sacrifice to make for a healthier hobby/work/life balance. I miss releasing games more regularly, but this is probably for the best.

That all said, I haven't been completely dormant. I've been secretly working on something new, which I'm very excited about. It's pretty far along in development, although I can't discuss it publicly yet. The goal is to announce it sometime between now and the end of this year, so hopefully something terrible doesn't happen!

Although I can't talk about what I'm working on yet, I do want to revive this blog. I think my loose plan is to post game design musings here, but I haven't fully decided yet. Not anything super serious, just stuff that comes to mind and seems interesting to talk about.
