More Card Stuff


This past week and a bit, I've been working on a number of features for the untitled card game thing.

  • Cards are centered on the screen now. I don't know why it wasn't like this from the start! Just created extra work for me.
  • Player portraits which get attacked after each battle and explode on defeat.
  • Attack animations have a windup.
  • Cards can prompt you to choose one of many cards. for an effect.
  • New minions can be spawned during combat.
  • A bunch more specific things that I show in the attached video.

I'm still trying to figure out what a "playthrough" of this game will look like. I forget what I said in the previous post, but I'm currently leaning towards a typical roguelike dungeon crawler structure, just because it's what's most familiar. I'm not entirely sure how well that will work for this game, but we'll see in time. For now, I'm just implementing a bunch gameplay systems and content so I'll have a lot of levers to turn when it comes time to start making this into an actual game instead of just a sandbox.
